Stephen Colbert "arguing" with Khaled Hosseini on BookTV

Colbert fans and Hosseini fans unite in laughter! This video is hilarious.

When I was looking up some Khaled Hosseini stuff on YouTube, I found out there's a movie being made of The Kite Runner. It should be released on November 2nd this year. The dialogue is in Dari, but there'll be English subtitles. It will be released in the USA (yes!). I think The Kite Runner would make a great film. I'm anxious to see how it'll turn out.

Japanese Game Show (In a library)

Stevie () showed me this video on YouTube and I thought it was hilarious enough to post. It's definitely not one of those things everybody finds funny. It's more of a personal taste. If you don't like it, don't worry--you won't hurt my feelings. I think the best thing about this video is just the concept: Japanese men putting on a game show in a library. The part I chuckle at most is the contestants' attempt to stifle their laughter.

Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End Trailer

These films are Disney's best. I love them and can't wait for At World's End to come out. The DVD's lots of fun because of all that behind the scene stuff. I never realized this until watching the writer's commentary on Black Pearl, but you can analyze movies just like you can analyze books. Shocking isn't it?

Page H. S. @ SEGC Independence

It's been a while. Sorry. This past week is always the busiest week of the year, thanks to our high schools spring musical. Today was the last day of the show, Seussical. I play the clarinet in the orchestra. We've had endless hours of rehearsal the past two weeks. On top of that I've been occupied with winter drum line practices (See video). I'm still somewhere in the middle of A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man by James Joyce. It's a hard book. It took me an hour and a half to read about fifteen pages the other night, which is slow for any reader, particularly me, who goes through books pretty quickly. My English teacher told me it took her a whole semester of college to get through Ulysses, also written by James Joyce. Anyway, here's a video of our winter drum line performance yesterday. The video only shows me for a second or two. In case you miss it, I'm the one conducting all this.

Imogen Heap Live Video

Watch this and be amazed. Seriously. Imogen Heap is possibly my favorite musical artist ever.

I know it's been a while, but I've been busy. School's been an ogre. In case you were wondering, I finally finished another book yesterday (Magical Thinking) and will be reviewing it soon. At the moment I'm reading a Freakonomics for my English class. It's going, well, slow. I don't have a problem with nonfiction when it's good, like Augusten Burroughs, but a book about economics... not my thing. More on that some other time. (It's really not all that bad. I'm just feeling sorry for myself.)
